Citrus is a genus of flowering trees and shrubs in the rue family often called Rutaceae. Plants in the genus produce citrus fruits including important crop such as oranges , lemons , grapefruits , pomelos and limes. The genus citrus native to South Asia, East Asia, Melanesia and Australia etc.

Citrus fruits have good amounts of other vitamins and minerals which includes B vitamins, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium and copper .

They are also rich in plant compounds . It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. It also have varieties of flavonoids , carotenoids and essential oils which are very much beneficial to our health.

In fact , 1 medium size orange can fulfil your need of vitamin C in a day.

  • Citrus fruits are good source of fibre:-

Citrus fruits are good source of fibre. It has lots of health benefits such as –

…It aids in weight loss

…It also act as appetite suppressant
